How It All Began

Hello all! Most of you will already know me through our trips, but for those that don't, here's a little bit about me and how Jo's Theatre Trips started.

AUTUMN 2017

It Started With a Family Treat

It was the Autumn of 2017 and I was looking at booking a trip to see Matilda for the family, as a Christmas treat. Our youngest daughter had just turned 8 and was a fan of the film.

Planning the Perfect Day

I knew I wanted good seats as she was still little. We would need to take the train from Wickford Station and, as it was a Christmas treat, we wanted to find somewhere nice to eat beforehand.

There Had to Be a Better Way

I was shocked at the prices of both the tickets for the theatre and the train travel for the five of us. I couldn't imagine how families were able to afford to take their children up to London to enjoy a show very often!

I Wasn't the Only One

I spoke with some of the parents at my daughter's school and everyone felt the same. Some chose not to go because of the cost, others didn't feel safe taking their children on the train late at night, but all said it was something they would like to do.
