Hello All, most of you will already know me through our trips but for those that don’t here’s a little bit about me and how Jo’s Theatre Trips started.

It was the Autumn of 2017 and I was looking at booking a trip to see Matilda for the family, as a Christmas treat. Our youngest daughter had just turned 8 and was a fan of the film.

I knew I wanted good seats as she was still little. We would need to take the train from Wickford Station and as it was a Christmas treat we wanted to find somewhere nice to eat beforehand.

I was shocked at the prices of both the tickets for the Theatre and the train travel for the 5 of us. I couldn’t imagine how families were able to afford to take their children up to London to enjoy a show very often!

I spoke with some of the parents at my daughters school and everyone felt the same. Some chose not to go because of the cost others didn’t feel safe taking their children on the train late at night but all said it was something they would like to do.
